Is the Everest re-indexing feature the same as the one in SSMS?

Overview

This article explains if the re-indexing feature found in the Everest application triggers the same re-indexing logic as found in the database using the Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio.

Please note that the re-index feature in Everest corresponds to the re-index stored procedure in the company database found through SQL Server Management Studio.

The two actions offered by the Everest application are mapped as follows:

• The Rebuild Indexes action executes the DATABASE_REINDEX procedure on the current company database
• The Defrag Indexes action executes the INDEX_DEFRAGMENTATION procedure on the current company database
