Overview
After enabling View > Include Out Bins, items show hundreds of units in a bin named RELEASED while the regular stock total is zero. RELEASED is an Out-type bin created by default in every Everest company and is the destination of Write-off Quantity transactions. These units are not sellable stock and must not be written off again. This article explains what the bin represents.
Information
What RELEASED is
- Default bin of type Out, description "Released Area".
- When a Write-off Quantity adjustment posts, the units move from the source bin into RELEASED. The quantity in RELEASED is the accumulated history of write-offs for that item.
- Out-type bins are excluded from the Items browser totals and from Item Stock Status unless Include Out Bins is enabled, by design.
What not to do
- Do not post another write-off against RELEASED.
- Do not transfer units out of RELEASED into a Stock-type bin unless the goods physically exist and the original write-off was wrong.
Other default Out bins behave the same way: OUTSTK_USA, VCSA, VRMA, CRMA-EX.
