Overview
Before concluding that a write-off or adjustment was never saved, confirm the current state from Inventory History rather than from earlier exports or screenshots. Query results and CSVs taken before the adjustment date do not reflect the current position. This article shows how to verify a posted adjustment in Everest and in the database.
Information
In Everest
- Inventory > Items, select the item, Options > Inventory History.
- Click Get - all.
- Look for the document: write-offs appear as WRITE OFF QUANTITY with a
WQ-xxxxxnumber, stock transfers asST-xxxxx. Check the date and the resulting Total.
In SQL (read-only)
SELECT TOP 20 ItemNo, db_server_date, Doc_type, STK_QTY, QTY_STK FROM InvHist WHERE ItemNo = 'ITEM_CODE' ORDER BY db_server_date DESC;
SELECT itemno, qty_stk FROM items WHERE itemno = 'ITEM_CODE';
The Inventory History browser is documented in Ch. 4: Managing Items: The Inventory History Browser.
Good practice
When the customer and the database appear to disagree, ask for the Inventory History screenshot or the document number before stating a conclusion. Always note the retrieval date of any CSV used as evidence.
